The ASUS VG248QE is the cheapest good monitor with 144hz, it's colors are lackluster but if you calibrate it well enough it looks pretty good. The BenQ XL240TE (and it's successor who's name I don't remember) costs more but has better color. Unless the colors are grossly off, you only need to calibrate it if you're doing any serious media work. They are still LCD, the technology is inherently flawed. I will bet vital parts of my anatomy that this monitor has IPS glow and backlight bleed issues just like all other LCD's. Its great it has FALD, its about damn time, that tech has been around for ages, and whilst 384 zones is ok, it could be so much better.
